Hello Redwood City and beyond! We couldn't be more excited to be your local indie bookstore.
We are Andrew and Taylor, and we moved to Redwood City in 2019. We have found a real home here, and Fireside Books & More is something of a love letter from us to this town.
Andrew is originally from Cleveland, Ohio and has lived in the Bay Area since 2009. He loves local communities, and Fireside Books & More is an homage to his own childhood bookstore.
Taylor was born and raised in Santa Rosa, just a couple hours north of RWC. She loves books and (like Andrew) being involved in her local community. So, Andrew couldn't have chosen a better business, as far as she's concerned!
Fireside aims to be more than just a store. We want to be a place where people can slow down and spend time in downtown. So please feel welcome to stop in, say hi, and relax in one of our cozy chairs.
If you prefer to buy online, you can support our store through Bookshop.org. Bookshop.org has an extensive stock of books and will ship directly to you -- while sending us a portion of the proceeds, if you select our store.
Our in-store stock is not the same as Bookshop.org's but you can place an order with us, either in-person or over email, for pickup in the store. Books from special orders typically arrive in less than a week.

Our store only has new books. For buying used books in Redwood City, we recommend Friends of the Redwood City Public Library, Encore Books on the Square, and Savers.
We are working on a bookstore cat. We used to share responsibility for a neighborhood cat, named Bonnie, with neighbors. As they have moved away, we are adapting her to indoor life -- and hopefully bookstore life! But that has been a slow and gentle process. When/if Bonnie is official, we will announce it widely and proudly!
Our focus is books but we also have cards and gifts, such as stickers, puzzles, candles, toys, small decor, bags, and jewelry. We do our best to feature gifts by local makers and small businesses -- including quite a few items made in Redwood City.
We are a very small staff. We don't have the bandwidth to assess every suggested book – let alone coordinate a large number of book vendors. Therefore, most books we carry come through relationships with traditional publishers and distributors.
We do not do consignment and do not want books for free. Please do not send us unsolicited copies of your book.
We support indie and self-published local authors through an author fair where they can sell their books. If you are interested in taking part in that, let us know.
